Get to the First Page of Google: Blogging Case Study

Jun 8, 2021 | Case Study

Epic Thyme is a Tahoe-based wedding planning and design company founded by an amazing lead planner, Christi Nasser. Christi and her team specialize in creating one-of-a-kind weddings in and around the Tahoe area for local and destination couples. Because of this, Epic Thyme’s target audience is both location-specific and broad to reach couples across the nation and around the globe.

Campaign Details to Get to the First Page of Google

Synergy Content Marketing was hired in May 2020 to write and manage the Epic Thyme blog page. The main goals were to increase website traffic and get Epic Thyme to the first page of Google search results. Both of these goals were established to bring more business to Epic Thyme.

To do this, Synergy Content Marketing proposed writing and publishing 2 blog posts per month and cross-promoting content across other marketing channels, including Instagram, Pinterest, and through email marketing

Each blog post written has a specific SEO (search engine optimization) keyword or phrase. We use this keyword/phrase strategically throughout the blog post. Additionally, each blog post is at least 800 words long and utilizes imagery, which is also optimized for SEO. Lastly, each blog post topic is relevant to Epic Thyme’s target audience and the wedding industry in general.

Eight Epic Thyme blogs made it to the first page of Google. Seven of those eight blog posts are the very first search result for their targeted keyword/phrase. This is extremely important and valuable. Studies show the #1 organic search result is 10x more likely to be clicked than the #10 spot. Additionally, up to 92% of clicks are on the first page of Google compared to 6% on the second page.

The combination of blogging consistency, frequency, trending topics, and relevant SEO keywords brought about this great success. Additionally, Epic Thyme is completely sold out for 2021 and parts of 2022. So, we achieved the goals of increasing website traffic, getting to the first page of Google, and driving more business.

The best part? This is just the beginning. It has only been one year since Synergy Content Marketing began writing and managing Epic Thyme’s blog page. As we head into our second year of partnership, we expect to see Epic Thyme find its way to the top of more Google search results, establishing the company as the industry leader that it is.
